Artisan Story
Orvieto Green Rooster – This pattern from Biordi Art Imports is one of Italy’s oldest dinnerware designs; “il Buon Gallo,” of the Good Rooster, is known to bring good luck and prosperity to the home that keeps it! This style originated during the 13th century in Orvieto, a quaint and magical town on top of a volcanic plateau in Italy. In the Renaissance, Orvieto ceramics and Maiolica were often associated with green colorations.
When you order this hand-painted Classic Deruta Dinnerware and Ceramics you can mix these patterns with the other designs from the city of Deruta including: Raffaellesco, Antico Deruta, Ricco Deruta, Siena and Bordato. Each piece of our Majolica pottery is one of a kind and these Biordi dishes will all look great together and are the perfect Italian Gifts for your loved ones!
